Kalø Vig - Castle Ruins

We took a trip to our friendly neighborhood castle ruins. Not too far down the road from where we live are the remains of an ancient fort located on a partially man-made island smack dab in the middle of the bay, perfectly situated to keep an eye on any coming intruder. We took a picnic lunch and enjoyed the warm sunshine. Max had a blast as he loves anything to do with knights, princesses locked away in towers and pirates out to sea! We scoured the horizon often looking for any sign of Jolly Roger.....
Max, standing his post...

Any time is a good time to attack daddy!

1-2-3 JUMP!

Me and my big boy.

Sammy boy, sticking to the shade.

Taking the path less traveled...

Chicken Pox Attack!

It had to come sooner or later...Max got Chicken Pox. It actually wasn't that bad. He insisted on long pants and long sleeves because he didn't want to see them, so there was no scratching and no whining. The worst part was that he couldn't go to daycare for over a week, and when you have a relatively healthy 3 year old bouncing around the apartment who can't get out.... well, you fill in the gaps. Needless to say, he was happy to get back to his friends this week!
Here he is trying to look pathetic. He really wasn't, but he did think it odd that he had all these bumps everywhere - and I mean EVERYWHERE: scalp, bottoms of his feet.... even on his gums!

Tivoli Time!

We bought a Season Pass to our local amusement park and have just used the heck out of it the in the past month. Here's a few shots of our little wild man/men enjoying Tivoli.

Good thing momma brought a change of clothes. The water attractions are way too, well, attractive.

Wow! Where are we?

Isn't this just a perfect picture of summer?

Flying high with daddy....
